PEACE AND SAFETY Hakimul Ummat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thaanvi (rahmatullah alayh) said: "In the Hadith it is said: "Ask Allah for safety." Supplicate for safety. Fitnah disturbs the peace of the heart. It harms both the Deen and the dunya. The worldly harm is quite apparent. Regarding the damage to the Deen, in some places where there was anarchy, thousands of Muslims had become Christians. Do not wish for war. Ask Allah for safety. If war erupts, it is unavoidable but do not wish for it. Some people wish that Allah Ta'ala creates a rebellion (in the country). How stupid is this! During upheavals of anarchy, the honour of women is pillaged. Some women in order to protect their honour had taken their lives by jumping into wells. This is the effect of anarchy. Supplicate for only aafiyat (safety)."
