AL-Qur'an

Say: He is Allah, the One!

He begetteth not nor was begotten.

Allah, the eternally Besought of all!

And there is none comparable unto Him. (112. Al-Ikhlas 1-4)

The Maktab Struggle Part2

THE MAKTAB STRUGGLE IS THE SOLUTION FOR THE EROSION OF THE UMMAH

Western modernism and secularism have ruined this Ummah of Islam. All over the world, the onslaught of kufr, modernism and secularism is directed against Islam and the Muslims. Countries in Africa which were at one time Muslim-majority regions are today Christian-majority areas. Jahaalat (ignorance) coupled with poverty and the embrace of westernism by Muslims have alienated them from Islam. This is an incremental process. To most Muslims, even to the Ulama and religiously concerned Muslims, the process of kufrization and alienation of the Ummah is not discernable.

RURAL AREAS

While in the urban areas (towns, cities and developed villages) some Islamic activity exists and the process of kufrization of the Ummah is somewhat combated and the Islamic bond held intact, albeit with great difficulty, the same cannot be said for tens of thousands of remote villages in the rural areas of both Muslim and non-Muslim countries where Muslims live. In these remote areas Muslims in general, and the children in particular, are cut off from Islam and its institutions, and exposed to the depradations of the kuffaar missionaries.

CONVERSIONS

Some decades ago, irtidaad (becoming murtadd) and converting to a kufr religion, Christianity in particular, was an active process instituted by the proselytising Christian missionaries who had flooded the continent of Africa as well as Asia. With their material allurements and deceitful methods they preyed on the ignorance and poverty of the illiterate village masses. Innumerable Muslims were subtley drawn into the net and trap of kufr which the agents of shaitaan had laid. At the same time these agents had the strong support of the Christian governments of the West. Presently they enjoy the support of not only their own governments, but of the kuffaar governments which are governing all the lands of Islam. These governments and rulers are the agents of kufr and fronts of the Western governments whose active support they enjoy.

PASSIVE CONVERSION

In this age the process of kufrization has changed its tactic and threatens to surpass its forerunner, namely, active conversion. Today in the villages of Muslim countries, especially in Africa, the threat of alienation from Islam by way of passive conversion and embrace of kufr is extremely serious and great.

Passive conversion is irtidaad (becoming murtadd) without one even perceiving it. Muslim names are retained and inspite of the murtadd thinking that he/she is a Muslim, has in fact abandoned Islam without having formally accepted the religion of the kuffaar. This is achieved by ignorance, by cutting off Muslims from their Islamic bearings, and by the indoctrination of Western secularism. In addition the Western libertine and immoral cult exercises a powerful influence on the nafs of the youngsters whose ties with Islam have already been severed by the time they enter the secular educational institutions.

REMOTE VILLAGES

In the thousands of remote villages all over the Muslim World, as well as in such countries where there are sizeable Muslim communities, millions of Muslim children are already cut off from their Islamic moorings. There is no arrangement whatsoever for the elementary Deeni ta’leem and tarbiyat of these children. They grow up in stark ignorance. Uuknown to them are the Islamic basic and elementary teachings of Tahaarat, Salaat, Saum, etc. As far as the requirements of Aqeedah and Imaan are concerned, they have absolutely no understanding and no knowledge.

These millions of the Ummah’s children are growing up as non-Muslims. They are the adults of tomorrow’s Ummah. But their complete alienation from Islam and their embrace of secularism will transform them into enemies of Islam and the allies and bosom friends of the kuffaar—kuffaar with Muslim names.

CHILDREN

These children or the majority of them will tomorrow enter the kuffaar secular schools. Innumerable of these kuffaar institutions all over the Islamic World are schools and colleges which are funded and operated by Christian Missionaries and by forces inimical to Islam, who function under the front of relief agencies.

These luckless children of the Ummah are not in need of kuffaar missionaries to convert them formally to Christianity. By the time they are admitted to the kuffaar institutions, these children have already embraced kufr without them even realising it.The secularism painted in the hues of Christianity taught to them and the propaganda against Islam, make them veritable enemies of Islam such as Mr.Musharraf of Pakistan, Ghaddaafi of Libya and the many other shayateen masquarading as Muslims.

THE SOLUTION AND THE STRUGGLE

To stem this massive tide of kufr which threatens to overwhelm and deplete this Ummah drastically in the coming generations, there is the imperative and immediate and urgent need to educate these children of the Ummah who are drifting rudderless in the stormy waves of kufr heading for the rocks of devastation. This is a case of extreme emergency. It is a SOS which concerned Muslims should not and may not ignore. The need is to set up Maktabs (small Madrasahs) in these remote villages to educate our children in the elementary requirements of Islam.

MUJLISUL ULAMA

It is purely by the fadhl and taufeeq of Allah Ta’ala and with His aid, that the Mujlisul Ulama of South Africa has embarked on this Imperative Project and Struggle a few years ago. We work in remote villages in several regions of the world. So far, over a thousand Maktabs have been set up. These are small Madrasahs set up in any place that is available in the village. It may be a bamboo hut, a wooden shack, a dilapidated Musjid or even under some trees. The Maktab consists of an Ustaadh (Teacher and pupils —the children of the village).

Indeed one derives considerable peace of mind, solace of the heart and nearness unto Allah Ta’ala in involvement in this struggle. To see children who yesterday did not know what the Kalimah is, what Tahaarat and Salaat are, but today reciting the Qur’aan, performing wudhu and Salaat and understanding their identity is cause for much spiritual exhiliration.

A DROP

But our 1000 Maktabs represent a drop in the ocean when it is understood that there are tens of thousands of such villages and millions of such Muslim children who are threatened with Imaani extinction and irtidaad. It is now the incumbent duty of all Muslims who are concerned with Islam and the plight of this Ummah, to put their shoulders to this Struggle and push this Wagon— this Maktab Project— so that it could gather speed and cover more and more villages and set up the emergency machinery to rescue the Ummah’s children from the tentacles of the Octopus of Kufr.

THE COST

The cost of operating a Maktab is very low. But the local residents cannot afford the meagre wage for an Ustaad. The monthly wage for an Ustadh varies between R300 and R500 ($30 and $50). We are sure that millions of Muslims in this world can afford to sponsor a Maktab. Leave alone the millions living in other countries. If a 100,000 of South Africa’s approximately one and half million Muslims rise to support this Waajib Deeni Project, we can cover just as many villages.

Millions of rands are wasted in haraam avenues such as wedding functions, etc., as well as in unnecessary luxuries, building unnecessary Musjids and Daarul Ulooms, etc., etc. In building just one Musjid in a certain city of South Africa, R18 million rands were spent. Hundreds of thousands of rands are squandered in attending haraam kufr shows such as the recent ‘raihaan’ performances. But it is extreemely difficult to spend R500 or R300 or R100 a month to gain the everlasting Pleasure of Allah Ta’ala by becoming involved in the wonderful act of Thawaab-e-Jaariyah (Perpetual Thawaab)—the Maktab Struggle.

SUFFERING

We should look into our hearts and do some sincere and earnest soul-searching. We speak much of the Ummah and its suffering. But are we prepared to actively aid the Ummah in its time of distress by sponsoring a Maktab or a part of a Maktab? All sincere and intelligent Muslims will concede that today there is no holier struggle, no greater struggle and no greater emergency for this Ummah than to save the millions of Muslim children who are being alienated from Islam simply by being deprived of the very elementary teachings of the Deen.

OUR DUTY

Our duty is to inform the Ummah of what is taking place and to practically assist in combatting the onslaught of kufr which has surrounded the Ummah in a multi-facetted and co-ordinated attack from a variety of kufr and satanic forces from within and without the Ummah. It is not our function to go on fund-raising missions. We do not embark on such missions. This is the Waajib duty of the affluent sector of the Muslim community. Allah Ta’ala has bestowed to them the ni’mat of wealth and also the ni’mat of much free time. Their pursuit is only the dunya and accumulating its wealth. It is in their own interests to utilize this ni’mat of wealth to procure and safeguard their Aakhirah. If they fail to do so, their wealth will be of no benefit. At the time of Maut they will see that the wealth they were pursuing was a mere mirage which has now turned into a menace. But if they correctly spend part of their wealth in Allah’s Path —in this Waajib Maktab Project —their ni’mat of wealth will constitute a great and a wonderful capital for them in the Aakhirah, Insha-Allah

THE DUTY

We emphasise that it is the duty of our affluent brothers to save their Aakhirah by aiding this Struggle, individually and collectively. We should also remind them that the Deen of Allah Ta’ala will continue and be perpetuated in whatever degree Allah Ta’ala wills. The Projects of Allah’s Deen are not in need of our efforts nor anyone’s money. It is purely Allah’s Fadhl and Kindness that He allows sinful creatures such as ourselves the oppoprtuinity and the honour of serving His Deen He says in the Qur’aan Majeed”

“And, if you turn your backs (on the Deen),then He will (remove you) and substitute you with another people who will not conduct themselves as you (had behaved)”.

It is our fervant dua that you will heed this Call and contribute generously, and at the same time influence your freinds and acquaintances to join in this noble Jihaad.
